The plenary indulgence: what it is, where, how, when…
All the faithful who are truly penitent, excluding any attachment to sin and moved by a spirit of charity, who during the Holy Year are purified through the sacrament of Penance and nourished by Holy Communion, and who pray for the intentions of the Pope, will receive from the treasury of the Church the plenary indulgence, the remission and pardon of their sins, which may also be applied to the souls in Purgatory by way of suffrage.
Prayer for the Jubilee 2025
Father in heaven,
may the faith you have given us
in your Son Jesus Christ,
our brother, and the flame of charity
enkindled in our hearts
by the Holy Spirit,
reawaken in us the blessed hope
for the coming of your Kingdom.
May your grace transform us
into diligent cultivators of the evangelical seeds
that will make humanity and the cosmos rise,
in confident expectation
of the new heavens and the new earth,
when, with the powers of Evil vanquished,
your glory shall shine eternally.
May the grace of the Jubilee reawaken in us,
Pilgrims of Hope,
a yearning
for the treasures of heaven,
and spread throughout the earth
the joy and peace of our Redeemer.
To you, our God, eternally blessed,
be glory and praise
for ever and ever.
